What happens when the monthly traffic limit is exceeded on a VPS?
If the monthly traffic limit is exceeded on a VPS, the VPS network access is blocked.
The VPS itself is not deleted or reinstalled, but network connectivity is disabled until additional traffic is ordered or the traffic counter is reset.
VPS traffic is counted from the 1st day of the month to the last day of the month. The traffic counter is reset on the 1st day of the next month.
You can order additional traffic from the Client Area at any time. This can be done before the limit is reached or after the VPS has already been blocked.
After additional traffic is ordered and processed, the VPS network access will be unblocked.
To avoid service interruption, you can configure traffic usage notifications in the Client Area. For example, you can set a notification when your VPS reaches a selected traffic usage level, such as a specific number of TB.
After the notification threshold is reached, the alert is sent once per day. This can help you order additional traffic in time before the VPS reaches its monthly traffic limit.
If you expect to exceed your monthly traffic limit, we recommend ordering additional traffic before the limit is reached. This helps avoid the VPS network access being blocked.
