What's the difference between a Dedicated Server and Dedicated App Hosting?

A Dedicated Server is a full server assigned only to you. You are the administrator of the server and you are responsible for its management, configuration and installed software.

With a Dedicated Server, you can install any software you need, change the operating system configuration and manage the server in any way you want. However, all server administration tasks must be handled by you.

This includes tasks such as:

  • installing and configuring software,
  • managing system updates,
  • configuring security settings,
  • troubleshooting services,
  • maintaining the operating system.

Dedicated App Hosting is also based on a dedicated server, but it is managed by us and prepared for supported applications.

With Dedicated App Hosting, the server is ready to use after activation. You receive access to our App Hosting control panel, where you can install and manage supported applications without having to configure the whole server yourself.

This option is recommended if you want the performance of dedicated hardware but prefer a managed, ready-to-use environment.

ℹ Main Difference

Choose a Dedicated Server if you want full control and you can manage the server yourself. Choose Dedicated App Hosting if you want dedicated resources with a managed app environment prepared by us.
