What happens when the monthly traffic limit is exceeded on a Dedicated Server?

If the monthly traffic limit is exceeded on a Dedicated Server, the server network access is blocked on the switch.

The server itself is not deleted or reinstalled, but network connectivity is disabled until additional traffic is ordered or the traffic counter is reset.

Dedicated Server traffic is counted from the 1st day of the month to the last day of the month. The traffic counter is reset on the 1st day of the next month.

You can order additional traffic from the Client Area at any time. This can be done before the limit is reached or after the server has already been blocked.

After additional traffic is ordered and processed, the server network access will be unblocked.

ℹ Traffic Notifications

To avoid service interruption, you can configure traffic usage notifications in the Client Area. For example, you can set a notification when your server reaches a selected traffic usage level, such as a specific number of TB.

After the notification threshold is reached, the alert is sent once per day. This can help you order additional traffic in time before the server reaches its monthly traffic limit.

⚠ Important

If you expect to exceed your monthly traffic limit, we recommend ordering additional traffic before the limit is reached. This helps avoid the server being blocked on the switch.
